Joins HCDC in Celebrating Brooklyn Fathers


The Hope Center Development Corporation in partnership with The Allan Houston Foundation and Real Dads Network will gather together along with elected officials, businessmen and pastors to celebrate Father’s Day and encourage men in their faith, families, careers and finance.

This groundbreaking event, “URBAN IMPACT 2012” will provide essential tools and resources for fathers and their families and will kick off with a series of interactive team building sports for fathers and sons. Several participants of the tournament will be awarded  trophies and prizes presented byspecial guest- former NBA All-Star and current Knicks Assistant General Manager, Allan Houston, who is expected to attend the event in conjunction with his “Father Knows Best” Basketball Program and the iStar Charity Shootout 5 Borough Tour.  Mr. Houston is planned to also briefly address the crowd and will invite past participants of his community programs in effective fatherhood.  Mr. Houston will also sign basketballs for some of the children.

All community leaders- CEO's, Executive Directors, Pastors and elected officials, etc. are invited to attend "The Urban Leadership Summit" to join in the discussions on challenges and barriers many fathers are facing in the urban community and explore viable solutions.

Parents and youth groups please bring your teens out to the youth concert, YUMI (Young Urban Male Initiative) with music ranging from hip hop to gospel and reggae with special guest appearances by rappers, Whuteva, Seb Young and singer TJ Da Praying Man.  YUMI's goal is to encourage our youth to stay in high school and pursue their college education.

There will myriad of activities for children and special give-a-ways from - The Men’s Wearhouse, New York Yankees, The Brooklyn Cyclones, Black Enterprise, The New York Knicks, New York Marriott Marquis Hotel, Walmart, Papa John’s and Modell’s Sporting Goods and many more…. will provided.
