Kerron D. Norman has been named Vice President of Community-Based Programs at ANDRUS. In her new role, Kerron will be responsible for the operations of the Mental Health and Community Services Divisions at this multi-faceted provider of programs and services for children and families, headquartered in Yonkers, New York. She begins on July 9, 2012.
“We are very pleased to welcome Kerron to ANDRUS,” said CEO Nancy Ment. “She is a gifted leader and brings a wealth of experience in public child welfare, including Westchester County’s Department of Social Services. Her administrative experience and insight into the care of vulnerable children will enrich our programs.”
Since 2006, Norman has been the Director of Child Welfare for the Westchester Department of Social Services, overseeing child protection, prevention and foster care for the City of Yonkers. Prior to that, she was a Deputy Director of Field Operations for the NYC Administration for Children’s Services in the Bronx and a Child Protective Manager and Supervisor at ACS since 1997.
This year, Norman was the recipient of the Unsung Hero Award from the Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect. She also received the North American Family Institute’s Youth Champion Award for 2012. Norman was named a Champion of Children by Family Ties of Westchester in 2009.
Norman earned a Masters degree in Social Work from Columbia University, where she received the Outstanding Student Clinician Award in 2002. She received her BA is Sociology from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
