The successful, cost-effective NYC public school Relationship Abuse Prevention Program—Teen RAPP—is threatened with closure on July 1st, 2012, unless $3 million in funding is reinstated by the City of New York. Two student winners of the Rap for RAPP competition---Tyriek Overton and Jovan Martinez--- were awarded “Beats by Dre” headphones yesterday for their raps about relationships—and the need to restore NYC funding for the citywide, public school-based Teen RAPP program.
