Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester (HPCW) commemorated its expansion and move to its new headquarters with a champagne reception. HPCW also dedicated the Anna and Louis H. Shereff Pavilion in honor of the Shereffs, who established the unique Anna and Louis H. Shereff Caregiver Program, which has helped more than 300 patients since its inception in 1995.
More than 75 people attended the celebration, including Westchester's Deputy County Executive Susan Tolchin, White Plains Mayor Joseph Delfino and New York State Assemblyman Adam Bradley.
HPCW's new headquarters at the Westchester Medical Pavilion in White Plains is a new 72,000-square-foot state-of-the-art medical office complex on the campus of the former St. Agnes Hospital. The building was designed to accommodate a wide range of medical use requirements including physician offices, an adult day care center and other health-related providers.
HPCW's office was designed specifically for its needs. The staff is utilizing new telephone and data equipment to meet the requirements of the new hospice regulations, and the state-of-the-art technology also enables them to continually improve response time to patient care needs.
Since its inception, HPCW has cared for 6,150 Westchester residents and their families, and its daily census has increased nearly 30 percent over the last two years. Today, its staff provides programs and services to more than one hundred patients daily and offers help to their families and caregivers.
"Our growth has been steady, successful and unprecedented. The impetus for this growth has come from the ever-changing landscape of our community and the needs of our patients and their families," said James P. O'Toole, Chairman of HPCW's Board of Directors. Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester is located at 311 North Street, Suite 204, White Plains, NY.
