CHFS Toy Drive Draws Support from Court Officers PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 03 January 2012 02:37

The New York City Hispanic Family Court Officers Society turned out to support the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services (CHFS) Holiday Toy Drive this year.  The group -- together with other local businesses and supporters - gave over 400 gifts and toys for children in the agency's foster boarding home programs.  In addition to the gifts, the local organizations and businesses pitched in to help make a group trip to the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall where children got to participate in a special holiday event.

"In many respects, the 2011 Holiday Toy drive personified the vitality of a truly community based organization where other local organizations and establishments such as the New York City Hispanic Court Officers Society and the East New York Lions Club made the essence of donations more than just a check and a letter," said Vladimir Carvajal, Director of Fostercare & Adoption Services. "The ability for organizations to connect and meet with local foster parents, birth parents, and children personified the truly amazing gesture of giving to another."
