CCBQ Commerates JFK Early Childhood Center Anniversary PDF Print E-mail

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens John F. Kennedy Early Childhood Development Center held its 41st Anniversary and “Stepping Up” Ceremony on the rooftop playground at their facility in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Robert Siebel, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Chief Executive Officer, was on hand to congratulate the children. Additionally, Devin Bradford, a former student shared how the JFK Center has impacted his life. He recently graduated as valedictorian from high school and credited his time at the program as helping him to accomplish such an achievement. The 27 graduates were congratulated for their growth while in the program and were given rings as a symbol of their completion.

The JFK Early Childhood Development Center currently serves 80 children, ages 2-5. The program offers a full-day program to children and also offers parent workshops and activities in safe learning environment. The 23 staff members at the JFK Center provide a Montessori education, Universal Pre-K classes, music and dance programs, sports and physical activities, nutritious meals and snacks. Catholic Charities currently serves 2,250 children in 21 early childhood programs throughout Brooklyn and Queens.
