Westchester Friends Host Luncheon for CGSHB Rosalie Hall Maternity Services PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 June 2012 04:47

The Westchester Friends of Rosalie Hall hosted the Mary Jane Ridder Spring Luncheon & Boutique at The Larchmont Yacht Club on June 7th to benefit the many women and children served by Rosalie Hall Maternity Services, a Division of Catholic Guardian Society and Home Bureau (CGSHB). The luncheon was established to honor the memory of Mary Jane Ridder, an exceptional woman who gave unstintingly of herself to advance the good work of Rosalie Hall, which gives mothers and mothers-to-be the practical assistance they need to ensure their own and their newborns’ well-being.

A total of 330 guests turned out for the luncheon, which raised $75,000 to support these vital services. Sister Monique Lallier, Superior General, and the Misericordia Sisters of Montreal who founded Rosalie Hall in 1887, were this year’s honorees at the luncheon.

“Many women and children living at or below the poverty line benefit from the indispensable pregnancy and adoption services offered by Catholic Guardian Society and their wonderful Rosalie Hall Program,” said Valerie O’Keeffe of Mamaroneck, a CGSHB Board Member who co-chaired the luncheon together with Michele Finn of Bronxville, Jennifer Graziano-Mangano of White Plains, and Lisa Cox Collins of Larchmont. The luncheon’s Honorary Chairwoman was Dottie Hartman of Larchmont.

“CGSHB is honored to be a part of the legacy of Mary Jane Ridder and joining in this tradition of securing vital support for pregnant and parenting women who face so many challenges in life,” said Craig Longley, Acting Executive Director at CGSHB. “She, like the Misericordia Sisters, knew that these women should not face their pregnancies alone, and, that through our support, they and their children can share in life’s blessings. We are grateful to have the help of the Westchester Friends of Rosalie Hall in this important mission.”
